Dr. Matthias Schubert (CEO)

photo1 Matthias Schubert joined Matrisk in 2008 and is presently the CEO of Matrisk. Before joining Matrisk, in addition to his academic career at ETH Zurich as a scientific assistant, he has been working as an engineer in practice. His exertise is issues on human safety and risk acceptance criteria in engineering decision making (CV).

Prof. Dr. Daniel Straub


photo1 A co-founder of Matrisk, Daniel Straub is a leading expert on integrity management of engineering systems and natural hazards risk assessment and management. Besides his engagement in Matrisk, he is a professor at the Technical University Munich where he heads the Engineering Risk Analysis Group (CV).

Prof. Dr. Michael Havbro Faber


photo1Michael Havbro Faber, a co-founder of Matrisk, holds a professor position at ETH Zurich, leading the Group of Risk and Safety. In addition to his academic career, he has an extensive practical experience in the applications of methods of structural reliability theory to load analysis, structural design, assessment of existing structures and risk based inspection and maintenance planning in the fields of civil, offshore and aeronautical engineering (CV).

Dr. Kazuyoshi Nishijima


photo1 Kazuyoshi Nishijima joined Matrisk in 2007. Since then he has been actively working on probabilistic modeling of large-scale natural hazards as well as complex engineered systems. He has also been leading several research projects at ETH Zurich, including projects on risk-based engineering decision problems of different time scales; from real-time decisions to long term decisions from the perspective of sustainability (CV).

Dr. Jochen Kohler


photo1Jochen Kohler joined Matrisk in 2007 as an associate expert and became a director in 2008. He is an expert in structural reliability analysis and risk assessment in the field of civil engineering. Besides his engagement in Matrisk he is a senior research associate and lecturer at ETH Zurich (CV).
